NCAA Final Four: Houston Cougars Defeat Duke Blue Devils with an Exceptional Comeback
Source Saturday night I was able to enjoy the final four in college basketball, specifically the duel between Duke vs. Houston Cougars, all the predictions, even in the betting odds gave as favorite the Duke Blue Devils who with their reference Cooper Flagg had the favoritism, in my case I always go for the teams that on paper are supposed to be the least favorite and I think that when it happens, these teams have nothing to lose, but rather show that they can beat the best. At the beginning of the game the Blue Devils started dominating the scoreboard and during most of the game they kept the lead thanks to the offensive play of Cooper Flagg who with his physicality and dominance gave that offensive strength to the Duke team, Houston always tried to stay close. With 11 minutes left in the second half the Blue Devils dominated the Cougars by 14 points, but with a great shooting percentage from the perimeter Houston was gradually reducing that advantage with excellent percentage from the zone. Source With 5 minutes left in the duel Houston had approached 6 points difference and the game was becoming more exciting and the intensity of the game was getting stronger. The Cougars were still betting on shooting from the perimeter, a strategy that was working for them because of the good percentage they were maintaining from the zone. With 31 seconds left in the game with a 3 point difference in the scoreboard in favor of Duke, the Cougars stole the ball from the Blue Devils trying a three pointer that they missed but finished with a dunk on the rebound putting the game at only 1 point difference. Then through 2 free throws the Cougars would go up on the scoreboard and making a great comeback. Source With 3.1 seconds left Duke had the opportunity to tie the game with a three pointer but Houston's good defense did the job and the Cougars took the game 70 - 67 defeating the powerful Blue Devils and inscribing their name in the final of college basketball. Best scorers for Houston: L. Cryer with 26 points, 5 rebounds and E. Sharp 16 points, 3 rebounds. Best scorers for Duke: C. Flagg with 27 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists. K. Knueppel with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists. Tonight the champion will be defined between Houston Cougars and Florida Gators, in what will be a great duel. Twitter @agfnzn1 Instagram @dread_negro
